Jonathan Levy
Jonathan Levy,
Art has always been the main element of my life. As a small child, whenever I saw a pen I would grab it and start doodling on whatever was in front of me, whether it be a wall, the floor, or any other nearby surface. I can remember the moment when I realized what I was doing and would drop the pen and think, “What did I do?!” As I grew older, my lack of self control became less of an issue but the ability to loose myself within my work has remained the same.

When painting, everything around me goes away. Once I find that rhythm, I become less in control and more a willing participant. In the past, I was very concerned with communicating an idea. Now, everything I do is purely self indulgent like a little kid playing with a toy.
